Welcome back to the Ridebyshots.com Blog! This time, I’m taking a look back at my favorite shots from the ‘25 Season. As the year comes to an end, I’ve been digging through the thousands of images captured during my busiest summer yet. It wasn't easy to narrow them down, so let’s dive in together and see which frame took the No. 1 spot

#10. Arran Hands - Oulton Park (BEMSEE April)

This is one of my favourite shooting locations at Oulton Park as the bikes exit Druids and get on the power heading to Lodge. The front wheels are usually in the air here adding to the action in the shot. I know Arran loves a wheelie shot, and I was so pleased when he used this image for his posters this season at Oliver's Mount (Scarborough) and the Southern 100

#9. Daniel Rossi — Thruxton (BSB, August)

This was my first visit to Thruxton so I was unsure of the best shooting locations. I decided to try the Club Chicane and captured this shot of Dan being pursued by Jorge Halliday and Dave Glossop.

When Dan told me this was his personal contender for “Shot of the Season,” I knew it had to have a place on this list!

#8. Jonathan Perry — Anglesey (NGRRC, June)

I was on more familiar territory at Anglesey Circuit back in June and like Oulton Park, I know the best spots for capturing a good power wheelie. This is Jonathan racing to Church on his way to a powerbike race win that weekend.

Jono used this image on his social media for his Race Report and told me he “I love riding that big Honda.” Looking at the photo, I think it shows!!

#7. Carter Brown — Oulton Park

Another shot from Oulton Park and Carter Brown pulling a nice wheelie on his Yamaha R6, I love the lighting on the shot and the Uggly and Co branding on the bike looks awesome. Carter described the R6 as “a lot of fun” before his mid-season switch onto a Ducati V2. That Ducati is another wheelie machine, but this R6 shot remains one of my personal standouts from the year and was the main photo on the Ridebyshots.com Homepage for most of the season.

#6. Chris Moore — (Two-Stroke Panning)

Have we had enough wheelies yet? Well there might be a few more to come but for now let’s have a look at this panning shot of Chris Moore. I’ll admit, I’m often "guilty" of sticking to faster shutter speeds. While slow-shutter results are spectacular when you nail them, it’s incredibly frustrating when you miss! I’m definitely classing this one as a hit; the wheels, kerb, and background have that perfect motion blur, while Chris and the Yamaha TZ250 stay pin-sharp.

Also, a special shoutout for the Manx design on that Arai helmet—no prizes for guessing that Chris is a TT and Manx GP regular!

#5. Chloe Jones — Donington Park (WCR, June)

We’ve made it to half way in the countdown and P5 is another slow shutter speed shot of a rider that keeps getting faster and faster, the brilliant Chloe Jones.

The shot was from qualifying where Chloe took P5 on the grid before finishing on the Podium in P3 for Race 1 - a brilliant achievement at her home round of the WCR Championship.

The shot is taken on the exit of Macleans on the run up to Coppice, I love that Chloe is in full tuck, chin on the tank mode. I hope the image captures the effort that she was putting in.

#4. Davey Todd — Oulton Park (BSB, May)

As a photographer there are certain riders that you look out for on track and Davey is definitely one of those. This shot was taken at the end of Warm up and shows that Davey is always ready to entertain the fans. A true showman!

The 8ten BMW looks mean in the morning shadows, and I look forward to Davey adding more TT wins to his CV in 2026.

#3. Jonathan Rea — Donington Park (WSBK, July)

I hope you’ve enjoyed the run down so far and we’ve made it to the podium places already. This is one shot that I had to include, an end of an era moment,  Jonathan Rea on his final WSBK appearance at Donington Park before he announced his intention to retire from racing at the end of the season.

What a career Jonathan had with 6 WSBK Titles in 6 years in a career that spanned almost 20 years at World level. Enjoy your retirement, Champ!!

The shot was taken at the Melbourne Loop, which is a personal favourite spot because of how close you can get to the action. Seeing that iconic Joey Dunlop replica Arai helmet through the lens was just the icing on the cake. A legend honouring a legend.

#2. Dave Mackay — Anglesey (NGRRC, June)

The silver medal goes to this shot of Dave Mackay, The 2025 NGRRC Phoenix Open Champion . And, yes, it’s another wheelie, but this one is different.

I have taken a number of photos of Dave over the years and we’ve chatted online, but I finally met him at Snetterton the week before this was taken and I introduced myself as “The man who takes photos of you pulling wheelies at Anglesey” - I felt the pressure to back up my claims and I’m grateful to Dave for looking right down the lens here. I think that takes the image to the next level on what was a misty afternoon on the Island.

#1. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu - Donington Park (WSBK - July)

Treble Toprak
Treble Toprak

Taking Top spot for 2025 is “El Turco” - This was captured moments after his victory in Race 1, on his way to a dominant hat-trick of wins that weekend. It’s been a historic year for Toprak, securing another World Title before his intriguing switch to the MotoGP paddock for 2026.

This was taken as he made his way through Victory Lane and although it might not be the perfect shot technically, it captures Toprak basking in the Donington sunshine and the adulation of his supporters.

In Memory

That concludes the countdown for 2025. I hope you’ve enjoyed this rundown of the season, but I cannot finish without a special mention of the late Owen Jenner and Shane Richardson. I captured images of them both on that tragic weekend at Oulton Park, but I did not feel it was right to include them in a "best of" list. They were incredible talents and a huge loss to our racing family. We race on in their memory.
